While best known for his roles in The Hangover films, actor and comedic trailblazer Zach Galifianakis has also developed quite a following for his distinctive stand-up and unconventional viral videos.
One such project is the web series Between Two Ferns, in which Galifianakis literally sits between two potted ferns and plays an out-of-touch version of himself who conducts awkward and uncomfortable interviews with various celebrities.
The difference between The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Between Two Ferns of course is that on Ferns the terrible awkwardness is intentional. As a result, it makes for some pretty outstanding comedy and many memorable moments.
It was announced today that the web series, which has been airing exclusively at FunnyorDie.com, will be headed to Comedy Central in order to air a half-hour special on May 6th.
Guests for the special are slated to be Tina Fey, Jon Stewart and Sir Richard Branson.
I guess Steve Carell wasn’t invited back.

Please tell me Speed Stick actually sponsors him. It’s too perfect.
I don’t know if they officially endorsed him but they certainly haven’t given him a cease and desist as he’s used their product in numerous B2F eps.
