The best show on television (and ever, in many people’s opinion) has returned and aired the first two episodes of its eight episode summer run. Not surprisingly, so far it has been absolutely brilliant.
Sadly, not all summer TV is.
Without going into spoiler territory, the season premiere began with a mind-boggling ominous flash-forward, before picking up exactly where it left off after season four’s explosively epic ending.
Creator Vince Gilligan and his cast and crew are not only at the top of their game, they’re also blazing their way into TV history by creating incredible drama in every scene that airs. I’m not kidding, this show is so good it can make a cold open about a schlubby German guy eating tater tots awesome.
Who knew it was possible to make chewing riveting?
The new season of Breaking Bad airs Sundays at 10pm on AMC.

Hello, 1 question: Some people (very few, but still) say season 5 hasn’t been as good as the past seasons. Of course, all the other people say it’s been the best. What do you think?
Hey De Niro,
Personally, I think it IS the best season so far, despite season 4 being nearly flawless.
Watching Walter White complete his transformation from Mr. Chips to Scarface was phenomenal, and with ingenius episodes like “Live Free or Die” or “Dead Freight” we were treated to new levels of suspense and thrills.
Breaking Bad is the only show I’ve ever seen that gets better every season its on the air, which is why I fully expect Vince Gilligan and his team of writers to continue that trend with the show’s final 8 episodes.
